Physical Education Skills Assignment- Passing a Soccer Ball
Step by Step SFL
Have students stand with their feet together. | Can everyone look at your feet? Notice your feet are shaped just the right way to curve around the ball a little? Let’s pretend we all have a sticker on the inside of our sneaker. The inside of the foot is what we will use to pass the soccer ball. |
Place the ball on the ground in front of you. Step forward with one foot, plant it firmly beside the ball and then swing your other foot forward with your ankle locked. | Place the ball in front of you on the ground. Take a step forward beside the ball with one foot and we’re going to pretend that our kicking foot is a robot leg. Can you do that? It will be stiff like this- demonstrate locked ankle and kick the ball with the inside of the foot |
Use the inside of one foot to hit the ball in the middle. Follow through, so your kicking foot goes to your target. | Move one foot back and then swing it up beside the ball and kick it with the part of your foot that has the sticker on it. |
Hit the ball toward a partner | Now try to pass the ball in the same way toward a partner.
